Emberion’s innovation is driven by a dedicated R&D team of nearly 30 experts and a strong, experienced leadership group. We operate out of two key R&D hubs in Europe: Espoo, Finland, and Cambridge, UK.

Our Cambridge division specializes in the development of infrared sensors, leveraging nanomaterials, a state-of-the-art clean room, and a pilot production line. Meanwhile, our Espoo division focuses on electronics design, CMOS ROIC development, sensor integration, and camera characterization.

Founded in 2016 as a spin-off from Nokia, Emberion was established by its core team alongside Verso Capital, a Finnish venture capital firm. The Chairman of our Board is Mr. Anssi Kariola, Managing Partner at Verso Capital.
