Saoussen Merdes

Saoussen has been working at Boco IP since October 2021. She holds a Master’s degree in Semiconductor Physics and a PhD in Electrical Engineering. She has over 15 years of experience in research and education. Prior to joining Boco IP, she carried out research in the fields of solar energy and nanotechnology at Tokyo University of Science (Japan), the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin and the Freie Universität Berlin (Germany). She also worked as a Senior Scientist in a Finnish nanotechnology company.

Saoussen’s work includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications, performing novelty searches, landscape analyses and Freedom-to-operate studies in addition to advising clients on matters related to patenting in the fields of nano and semiconductor technologies (materials and devices), quantum technologies, optics, spectroscopy, and thin film coatings.
