Licensing

Legal Services

By licensing the owner of intellectual property may give the right to use the protected immaterial assets in a company’s business. The right of use is usually limited for a certain term as well as geographically, and it may concern for example only a certain purpose of use. Companies can give rights of use to their own intellectual assets but they often also need rights of use to IPR owned by other parties to enable their business.

In our consultation service concerning licensing agreements we go through our client’s existing license agreements (in- and out-licensing) and check their clauses related to IPR, if needed. Further, we draft model agreements and clauses to be used in different situations. We consider the frame set by the laws on employee inventions and university inventions for the freedom of contract. We also assist in negotiations with other contracting parties, if needed.
